A catch-all functionality that is activated for a specific email mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. Otherwise said, if you delete an email address and somebody still sends a message to it, or to any miswritten email address under the exact same domain, you’ll receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be crucial in case you are running a company, for instance. Since you may start receiving unsolicited messages, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filtering software so as to receive only legitimate email messages in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be created with a couple of mouse clicks if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with our company. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes using any domain name hosted there. To activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you will need to click on the symbol with the exact same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be done in the very same way and will not require more than a click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a specific domain name, you’ll get a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never change or deactivate anything automatically.
