It isn't uncommon for lots of users to use weak passwords simply because they are less difficult to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins that are not updated for a long time. It limits the access which a script has exclusively to its own folder, so in case one of your sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to see any other content in your account, therefore the damage will be minimal. Of course, employing JailHost won't substitute the security measures you need to take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, but it'll allow you to limit the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated server solutions and you can activate it with a few clicks. It is not enabled by default because we do not want to prevent some scripts which require to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You'll be able to enable JailHost for all other sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this effortlessly even if you don't have any previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia takes care of multiple domains - they all have separate folders which can be "locked". In comparison, other popular Control Panels feature add-on domains and the content of the latter is stored in the primary domain folder, so if a single website is hacked, the whole account is hacked, which is not the case with Hepsia. In case a site is damaged regardless of your efforts, we'll be able to restore it the way it was right away as we'll store several daily backups of your account.
